The Scavenger Backwater boat motors are geared for the person that wants to get into those inaccessible areas where the game is. No more worrying about rocks, mud, tree branches, weed tangles.

David Wells demonstrates the ease of handling of the Scavenger motor. The overall weight makes this an attractive solution to your weight problems when loading the boat. |

The belt drive reduces the RPM of the propeller drive enabling the Scavenger to utilize a larger propeller giving the unit more low end thrust. Static load testing shows the Scavenger has lots of pushing power. The 5.5 hp Model SB55 can produce over 80 lb. of push. The larger 12 hp Model SB12 pushes over 180 lb. What does all of this mean? More power to push those heavier loads consistently! |

Top speeds for a small boat 14x4 with a Model SB55 is about 13 mph, or a Model SB9 will go 16 MPH. A 1000 lb boat 18X7 with a Model SB12 will go about 10 mph. If you can float your boat Scavenger Backwater Motors will push it!! |

All models can turn 360 degrees on most boats. This allows for easy starting, and sharper turning angles for greater maneuverability. The propeller end can be placed in the boat for easy transportation to and from the water. Movie clips to demonstrate.(mpg) |

The large handle makes it easier to handle the motor while maneuvering in the water. The handle allows for a full 90 degree turn capability. Similar to zero turn lawn mowers. You can reach the handle from any location without a problem. Think Safety, engine shut off tethers are standard on all Scavenger models. |

The belt drive is the shock absorber for the Scavenger. This eliminates costly repairs to the machine for when you do run it aground. Scavengers are made to take the punishment of rocks and weeds encountered in shallow water applications. The see through guard enables you to monitor the drives condition. The belt, Kevlar reinforced, can be easily replaced and is an "off the shelf" product. The propeller is designed to keep debris out of the bearing area, ensuring long life of the sealed bearings. |

The mounting clamp is a simple clamp that allows the operator to mount the clamp without having to lift the motor into location. This allows the operator to remove the motor without assistance. Notice the brace that keeps the motor at the proper angle for maximum efficiency. |

We use an auger type prop that cuts through vegetation easily. It is made of auger plating and will withstand rocks, mud, tree limbs, etc. It is 9" in diameter for that extra push. The skeg and upper surface fin direct the water through the prop. The tubular construction of the shaft cover is uncluttered and will allow the motor to slip through congested areas without tangles. The auger type propeller is designed to protect your engine from damage if you do run aground. By profiling the propeller correctly, " each blade is 180' of the arc", we have managed to maintain contact throughout the full rotation of the propeller preventing damage to the component parts of your machine due to vibration. This is a common problem with our competitor's models as they use a standard propeller design. |
